The team Applique is French (oui!) and means "to apply," which is basically what you do-
you apply bits of fabric to the top of other fabric.
Unlike patchwork, where the pieces are cut and stitched together, applique is made of layering pieces one upon the other on a base or background fabric. The layers are stitched in place by hand.
SU PO PO PART 5 is one of the Jial Liu Hui that i jointed . It was applique by hand.
