SPECIALLY FOR EARLY BIRTHDAY GIRL

Knowing this friend through new technology( facebook). She stays in East Malaysia. We actually have the same interest and passion on handmades. We almost have a phone call to each other every day chatting about handmades, childrens and family, like a very close friends

My first met her in Mid Valley last year. She fly all the way from East Malaysia to KL to meet up with us( a group of handmades firends).

She gave me the image was , a soft spoken , young and small size lady. She tayed inKL for few days. I actully promise to bring her tour around KL and shop for handmade materials. 

But i was regreted and felt sorry .to her that i could not able to make it due to me and my husband have to take my daughter back from National Service from Melaka.

Last year March was her Birthday. Again i did not have the time to sew her a gift.

However today, i made myself to sit down to make a gift for her although her birthday is another one and a half month .

THREAD CATCHER

Looked back at my container past few days. My god , the container is full of small pieces fabrics . Throw it away or ignore it? No no, is a waste and a pinch for me. 

Erm... got to do something on it. Since my previous thread catcher  had used for over 10 years already.

I choose the individual pieces of  fabric and cut out in basic, geometric shapes and stitched them  together to form  a four-patch grid.

MY NEW BACK PACK

My old back pack had torn since few months ago. I used to put in water bottle , handphone and other stuff inside and follow my husband for Hash trail walk.

Two weeks ago, i started to plan on the design and templates . Due to afraid of my incorrect accurate drawing , first i draw roughly on the newspaper . And then correct any of the mistake on the templates before transfer it on the A3 paper. I also bought some cardboard to glue it .

After everything has make sure, then i choose a yellow and brown canvas fabric, and trace the templates on the canvas and interface and cut out. I did not sew imediately, i left it a week Due to have to settle the custom orders. On monday, 19, November, 2012. i spend two days on this unfinished project  because  need to take down the note and measurement, and unpick while sewing. I may put this back pack as one of the tutorial project in my workshop.

BOOK COVER ----- CUSTOM MADE

I met a young, generous  malay undergrad student from UiTm at Fabric Fanatics 's shop last week. He is a book worm. He reads a lot of  english book. He asked whether can be able to make two book cover on his favourite collections with different fabric. Besides this , he would like to have a compartment to slot in the led light. 

I told him frankly that i have not been sew such a specific  goods before but would like to take this as my  challenge. This young guy say will leave it to me whatever i can.

To sew a book cover is easy. But to sew a book cover with waterproof fabric and to slot in the led light , haha...then it will be another story..  I took 2 days to think of  what are the best way to slot in . I sew , unpick for several times. Finally , i completed it in time. ( He want it within 12 days from the date i accept the order).

Here it is the waterproof fabric book cover. I put up the handle and flip with snap button on it.

This is a book cover with linen fabric.

Sew a compartment for led light , cotton handle and a flip with snap button. Completed on 6th, Nov. 2012

Send  to him personally today.He was very happy of it.

There is a compartment with zip inside the pouch. The photo on the bottom showed the pouch almost complete.
